Thank you for purchasing the Nikon SK-6A.
This Power Bracket enables you to use your SB-28, SB-26, SB-25,SB-24 or SB-22 Speedlight as a
grip-type flash. By mounting your camera and Speedlight SB-28, SB-26, SB-25, SB-24 or SB-22 and
connecting them by cord, you can reduce harsh shadows in vertical-frame shooting.
In addition, by installing batteries in the SK-6A, you can use it as an external power source for flash.

Confirming the attachment
Turn camera and Speedlight power on. The ready-light
inside viewfinder lights up.
When using the SK-6A as an external power source
Press the Speedlight’s open-flash button to fire the
Speedlight, then check if the SK-6A’s operating lamp
comes on.

Mit dem Power-Bügel SK-6A lassen sich die Speedlight-Modelle SB-28, SB-26, SB-25, SB-24 und 
SB-22 als Griffblitze einsetzen. Durch die Montage des Power-Bügels seitlich zur Kamera werden harte
Schatten bei Hochkantaufnahmen vermieden.
Durch das Einlegen von Batterien in den SK-6A erhält das jeweilige Speedlight gleichzeitig eine externe
Spannungsversorgung.

• Install the batteries only when you want to use the

SK-6A as an external power supply for the
Speedlight.

• Even when powered with the SK-6A, the

Speedlight still requires  the use of batteries.

• Use batteries of the same type and brand as those

installed in the Speedlight.

• When replacing batteries for the Speedlight, also

replace the batteries for the SK-6A, and, vice versa.

• Legen Sie nur Batterien ein, wenn Sie den SK-6A

als externe Spannungsversorgung für das
Speedlight verwenden wollen.

Merci d’avoir porté votre choix sur le Nikon SK-6A.
Cet étrier d’alimentation permet d’utiliser le flash SB-28, SB-26, SB-25, SB-24 ou SB-22 comme flash
de type poignée. Le montage de l’appareil et du flash SB-28, SB-26, SB-25, SB-24 ou SB-22 et leur
raccordement par un câble permet de réduire les ombres dures produites en prise de vue d’images
verticales. 
De plus, en insérant des piles dans le SK-6A, celui-ci peut servir d’alimentation externe pour le flash.

• Insert the positioning pin (coupling pin) into one of the two holes that suits your shooting position. When

selecting the hole, take care that the position of the Speedlight does not cause unnecessary shadows 

• After rotating the coupling screw, look through the coupling confirmation window. If you don’t see a

silver metallic plate, the bracket and Speedlight mounting unit are coupled correctly. 

(If you see a silver

metalic plate, the bracket and Speedlight mounting unit are not coupled properly and the bracket and
camera may drop accidentally.)

• Setzen Sie den Positionierungsstift (Kupplungsstift) in eine der zwei Öffnungen, die für die jeweiligen

Aufnahmebedingungen am besten geeignet ist. Bei der Wahl darauf achten, daß die Position des
Speedlights keine unnötigen Schatten verursacht.

• Nach Drehen der Kupplungsschraube durch das Kupplungs-Bestätigungsfenster blicken. Power-Bügel

und Speedlight sind korrekt gekoppelt, wenn keine silberfarbige Metallplatte sichtbar ist. 

(Ist eine

silberfarbige Metallplatte zu sehen, so ist die Kopplung von Power-Bügel und Speedlight fehlerhaft, und
der Bügel samt Kamera kann sich versehentlich lösen.)

• Insérer l’axe de positionnement (axe de couplage) dans l’un des deux trous convenant à la position de

prise de vue. A la sélection du trou, veiller à ce que la position du flash ne provoque pas d’ombres
inutiles.

• Après la rotation de la vis de couplage, regarder dans la fenêtre de confirmation du couplage. L’étrier et

la monture de flash sont bien accouplés si aucune plaque métallique argentée n’est visible. 

(Si une

plaque métallique argentée est visible, l’étrier et la monture de flash sont mal accouplés, et l’étrier et
l’appareil peuvent tomber accidentellement.)

With the Power Bracket and Speedlight mounting unit coupled, it is
recommended that you set the grip to the “up” position. In the “up” position,
the grip will protect your Speedlight.

• The SK-6A’s operating lamp lights up when the

Speedlight is being charged, and goes off when the
Speedlight is ready to fire (i.e., when the
Speedlight’s ready-light comes on).

• When the connecting cord is plugged in or the

batteries are installed, the operating lamp may light
up.

• Das Kamera-Speedlight-Verbindungskabel darf wirklich nur zum Anschluß zwischen Kamera und Speedlight verwendet

werden. Unter keinen Umständen das Kabel an eine Computer- oder Telefonschaltung anschließen. Nikon lehnt jegliche
Verantwortung für Verletzungen und Beschädigungen ab, die durch Nichtbeachtung dieser Warnung entstehen.

• Beim Koppeln von Power-Bügel und Kameraschiene ist unbedingt die Kupplungsschraube festzuziehen. Ist die

Kupplungschraube nicht ordnungsgemäß festgezogen, kann ein vesehentliches Drücken des Freigabehebels zur
Ablösung der Kameraschiene mit Kamera führen.

• Es dürfen nur Nikon-Produkte mit dem SK-6A verwendet werden. Nikon lehnt jegliche Verantwortung für Verletzungen,

Beschädigungen oder Störungen ab, die durch den Einsatz von Fremd-Blitzgeräten oder anderen Kameras und Zubehör
hervorgerufen werden.

Compatibility to Autofocus Flash Photography 
With the SK-6A connected to SB-24, SB-25 or SB-26, the Speedlight’s AF assist illuminator LED does not light and
autofocus flash photography cannot be performed. With the SK-6A connected to SB-22, SB-28 or some SB-25
(model number less than 2523000), AF assist illuminator lights when the subject is dark, but autofocus flash
photography may not be performed correctly since it may go out of camera’s autofocus zone.

• Only use the camera speedlight connecting cord to connect your camera and Speedlight. Attempting to

connect the sync cord to a computer or telephone line may cause serious injury. Nikon cannot be held
responsible for any injury resulting from such action.

• Make sure to tighten the coupling screw when coupling the bracket and the Speedlight mounting unit. If the

coupling screw is not properly tightened, the release lever may be pressed accidentally and the bracket (with
camera) may be detached.

• Only use Nikon products with the SK-6A. Nikon cannot be held responsible for any injury, damage and/or

malfunction resulting from the use of other manufacturers’ flash units, cameras or accessories.

Hinweis zum AF-Illuminator des Blitzgerätes:
Durch die seitliche Anbringung des Blitzgerätes kann der AF-Illuminator das Aufnahmeobjekt nicht mehr korrekt
beleuchten. Der AF-Illuminator der Blitzgeräte SB-24, SB-25 (ab der Seriennummer 2523000) und SB-26 wird bei
Einsatz mit dem SK-6A automatisch deaktiviert. Mit SB-22, SB-28 und SB-25 (mit niedrigerer Seriennummer als
2523000) ist der AF-Illuminator aktiv, jedoch zur Fokussierung nicht nutzbar.

mal serrée, le levier de libération peut être pressé accidentellement, et l’étrier (avec l’appareil) peut se détacher.

• Utiliser uniquement des produits Nikon avec le SK-6A. Nikon ne saurait être tenu responsable de toute blessure,

dommage et/ou défaillance résultant de l’utilisation de flashes, appareils ou accessoires d’autres fabricants.

Photographie au flash à mise au point automatique
Avec le SK-6A raccordé au SB-24, SB-25 ou SB-26, la DEL illuminateur d’assistance AF ne s’allume pas, et la
photographie au flash à mise au point automatique est impossible. Avec le SK-6A raccordé au SB-22, SB-28 ou à un 
SB-25 (numéro de modèle inférieur à 2523000), la DEL illuminateur d’assistance AF s’allume quand le sujet est sombre,
mais la photographie au flash à mise au point automatique est impossible parce que ce dernier est en dehors de la zone
de mise au point automatique.

• Ne pas exposer les batteries à une chaleur excessive, telle que soleil, feu ou similaire.
• Ne pas charger les piles sèches.
• Ce produit ne doit être exposé ni au dégouttement ni aux éclaboussures. Cela pourrait provoquer une décharge

électrique ou un incendie.
