 GS752TXS and GS728TXS Smart Switches
Interface Naming Convention
The GS752TXS and GS728TXS Smart Switches support physical and logical interfaces.
Interfaces are identified by their type and the interface number. All the physical ports are as
follows:
GS752TXS
. 1–48 are gigabit ports and Port 49–52 are SFP+ ports that support both 10G
and 1000M mode.
GS728TXS
. 1–24 are gigabit ports and Port 25–28 are SFP+ ports that support both 10G
and 1000M mode.
The number of the port is identified on the front panel. You can configure the logical
interfaces by using the software. The following table describes the naming convention for all
interfaces available on the switch.

Physical
The physical ports include gigabit ports and are numbered
sequentially starting from one using the following format:
X/gY or X/xgY. X for the unit ID, g is for a 1G port, xg is for a
10G port, and Y is the port number.
1/g1, 1/g2, 2/g3
Link aggregation group (LAG)
LAG interfaces are logical interfaces that are only used for
bridging functions.
l1, l2, l3
CPU management interface
This is the internal switch interface responsible for the
switch base MAC address. This interface is not
configurable and is always listed in the MAC Address
Table.
