The Classic Interface
The classic interface uses a tab for each type of connection (Mobile Broadband and WiFi). Just
click the appropriate tab to view the connections interface for the corresponding technology
type.
Interface Selection Tabs
Click the tabs at the top of the interface to switch between the Mobile Broadband, WiFi and
WiMAX connection interfaces.
Each tab includes a connection status indicator; its color indicates the current connection state
of the corresponding technology:
Green when you are currently connected
Yellow when you are not connected (but your device is available)
Black when your device is disabled or not available.
Connect/Disconnect Button
Click the Connect button to establish a connection using the wireless technology whose tab is
currently selected. Click this button again to disconnect. See Chapter 3, “Mobile Broadband
Connections” and Chapter
7, “Connecting to WiFi Networks” for more information on
establishing connections.
Note
Although some versions of the Sprint SmartView software support the Ethernet and
dialup functions described in sections 8
and 9, the “classic” interface does not
support these functions in the main window. If you are using the “classic” interface,
Ethernet and dialup connections must be established in the Network Profiles
window (see “The Network Profiles Window” on page 110)
.
