Section 6A
Manually Connecting to a WiMAX Network
Before you begin, you will need the following:
A WiMAX device that you will use to establish connections. Windows device drivers for 
this device must be properly installed according to the manufacturer's instructions and 
the device must be selected in the Hardware tab of Sprint SmartView's Settings window.
A valid WiMAX User Account.
A WiMAX network profile for the network you wish to access.
Using the New Interface
To connect to a WiMAX network in Sprint SmartView's new user interface, follow these steps:
1.
Ensure that your WiMAX device is properly configured and connected to your computer. 
Sprint SmartView will begin searching for an available network. When Sprint SmartView is 
ready, the WiMAX button will display the Ready state (see “Connection State” on 
page 20)
.
2.
Click the WiMAX button.
Using the Classic Interface
To connect to a WiMAX network in Sprint SmartView's classic user interface, follow these steps:
1.
Click the WiMAX tab in the Sprint SmartView main window. If your device is properly 
connected and configured, Sprint SmartView will begin searching for an available 
network. When Sprint SmartView is ready, it will display “Ready to Connect.
2.
Click the Connect button.
Note
If you have more than one WiMAX network profile, clicking the arrow (
beneath the WiMAX button produces a menu listing all WiMAX network profiles. 
You can establish a connection using any profile listed simply by selecting it from 
the menu.
