Upgrade an X5.0 cluster to an X5.2 cluster
Upgrade an X5.0 cluster to an X5.2 cluster
This procedure assumes that Cisco TMS, if required for Device Provisioning or FindMe, is already
running version 12.5 or 12.6 software and was made operational with the cluster as part of the
upgrade or creation of the X5 cluster.
Non-clustered Cisco VCSs are not upgraded as part of this procedure.
Before the upgrade
Verify the correct operation of TMS Agent by running TMS agent diagnostics:
1.  Log into Cisco TMS.
2. Go
to
Administrative Tools > TMS Agent Diagnostics
3. In
the
TMS Agent Browser panel on the left side of the page, select Local TMS Agent
4. Click
Run All Diagnostics to run the diagnostic tests on the Local TMS Agent.
5.  For each Cisco VCS peer:
a. In
the
TMS Agent Browser panel on the left side of the page, select the peer.
b. Click
Run All Diagnostics to run the diagnostic tests on the Local TMS Agent.


If all tests are successful (all green check marks), proceed with the “Upgrade Cisco VCS clusters
to X5.2” instruction
s below.

If any errors are found (a red ‘X’ will appear against failing tests), do not proceed further with this
upgrade, but contact your Authorized Service Provider for further assistance to resolve the issues
identified.
Upgrade Cisco TMS 12.5 to Cisco TMS 12.6
If Cisco TMS is running 12.5, upgrade it to 12.6
1.  For each Cisco VCS cluster or non-clustered Cisco VCS managed by the Cisco TMS:

provisioning needs to be disabled in Cisco TMS

Configuration Replication by TMS must be disabled for clusters
To configure this:
a.  For each cluster in Cisco TMS:
i. Select
Systems > Navigator (and any required sub folders).
ii.
Select the Master Cisco VCS of the cluster
iii. Select
the
Clustering tab.
iv. Clear
the
Enable TMS Agent Data Replication on all Cluster Peers check box (if it
was set).
v. Click
Save Cluster Settings
Note: This disables database replication from Cisco TMS to each cluster peer.

Provisioning data will no longer be updated from Cisco TMS to the Cisco VCSs, however
provisioning of endpoints from data cached on Cisco VCSs will continue.

Cisco VCS Cluster configuration replication will continue.

Cisco VCS FindMe replication will continue.
Repeat for each Cisco VCS cluster in Cisco TMS
b.  For each non-clustered Cisco VCS in Cisco TMS:
i. Select
Systems > Navigator (and any required sub folders).
ii.
Select the Cisco VCS.
iii. Select
the
TMS Agent tab.
iv. Clear
