SNMP Configuration
The SNMP Configuration step appears only if you are running the CAD Configuration
Setup utility again to change configuration settings and if the Microsoft Simple
Network Management Protocol (SNMP) service is installed on the server that hosts
the CAD base services.

SNMP allows you to monitor and manage a network from a single workstation or
several workstations, called SNMP managers. SNMP is actually a family of
specifications that provide a means for collecting network management data from the
devices residing in a network. It also provides a method for those devices to report any
problems they are experiencing to the management station. For more information on

To install the SNMP service, open the Add or Remove Programs control panel, then
click Add or Remove Windows Components. Select Management and Monitoring Tools
from the list of components, then select Simple Network Management Protocol.
