5. In the Macro Editor dialog box, click Record.

The Macro Editor dialog box minimizes.

6. Maximize Vi, and begin typing the following macro keystrokes; the macro

recorder records your keystrokes.

7. In the Macro Recorder Suspended dialog box, click Insert Data.

The Select a Data Field dialog box appears.

8. Select the data field you wish to insert from the list, and then click OK.

The Macro Recording Suspended dialog box appears.

9. Click Resume Recording. Begin typing the following keystrokes.

Place the cursor in the “home” position

F2 (or whichever key has
been set up as the macro
hot key)

Pause macro recording and bring up the
Macro Recorder Suspended dialog box
