Cisco IOS Release 12.2(25)SEF2 and later run on the Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3040 for FSC, 
referred to as the switch. The switch is installed in the Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) PRIMERGY 
BX600 system, referred to as the BX600 system.

Before you install the switch in the BX600 system, upgrade the BX600 system management software to 
version 1.67 or later for the switch to operate properly. 

If you use the BX600 system management blade web interface or the console menus for some 
configuration and management tasks on the switch, unpredictable and undesirable behavior occurs. 

Do not click enable in the Switch Blade Period Polling field, and do not enter a password in the Set 
Password for Polling Account field on the Blade Info window. Do not use the console menus to set 
polling or to set a password for a polling account.

Do not configure the switch management VLAN settings by using these fields on the Blade Info window: 
VLAN IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway Address. Do not use the console menus to specify the 
management VLAN settings.

Do not use the Backup/Restore field on the Switch Blade window to back up and restore the switch 
configuration file, and always set Auto Restore to disable. Do not use the console menus to set 
Backup/restore Control for the switch configuration file and always set Auto Restore Enable to disable.

Always use the Cisco IOS command-line interface (CLI) for these settings by logging onto the switch.
