The following table lists the NE software releases supported in Prime Optical 9.3.1.

Before updating the software image on an NE, check the following table to verify whether the NE 
software version is supported in this Prime Optical release. If you add an unsupported NE software 
version, the Prime Optical server might not communicate with one or more NEs in the domain, causing 
erroneous behavior.

Some features are disabled or limited when 
Prime Optical is accessed from the Prime 
Central suite

The following features are disabled in Suite mode:

User creation, modification, and deletion

Prime Optical security parameters configuration

Basic authentication

Global time preferences configuration

New GUI features to simplify tasks and 
enhance the user experience

The Prime Optical GUI has a new look and feel compared to the previous CTM 
user interface.

Prime Optical also adds a new look to the NE Explorer with the addition of 
Overview and Provisioning drawers, which let you easily view NE and card slot 
properties.

Auto-initialization of a new job if the 
previous job failed

When a scheduled job fails, Prime Optical automatically creates a new, similar 
job and resends the request. By default, this functionality is enabled.

MGX devices are not supported

MGX support has been removed from Prime Optical.

Right-click menu in the Rack and Node 
view has been removed

Rack and shelf provisioning (along with drag-and-drop functionality) is not 
available in the Rack and Node views. However, you can provision objects at 
the card level.

Enable Port State Coloring check box in the 
Control Panel > UI Properties pane has 
been removed

You can no longer view the status of the shelf view and card-level view as a 
background color.

SiteMinder policy server support has been 
removed

Authentication for users who log in through the SiteMinder policy server has 
been removed from Prime Optical.

CiscoView support has been removed

CiscoView support has been removed from Prime Optical.

Carrier Packet Transport 200 (CPT-200)

CPT-200 is managed as ONS 15454-M2
