Disconnect the UniPack From the DNCS
Disconnecting the UniPack From the DNCS
Follow these instructions to disconnect the UniPack from the DNCS.
Note: You should still be logged on as root user in an xterm window on the DNCS.

1.
On the DNCS, type /usr/sbin/shutdown –y –g0 –i0 and then press Enter.
Result: The DNCS shuts down and an ok prompt appears..

2.
At the ok prompt, turn the power switch of the DNCS to the Off position.
3.
Turn off power to the UniPack.
4.
Disconnect the UniPack from the DNCS.
5.
Turn on the power to the DNCS.
Result: The DNCS boots.

6.
When the message Boot device: <full path of boot device>disk file and args
appears on the screen of the DNCS, press the Stop and a keys simultaneously.
Result: An ok prompt appears.

7.
Type boot –r and then press Enter.

A series of messages scroll across the screen as the DNCS boots.
•
The CDE window opens.
8.
Log into the CDE of the DNCS as dncs user.
9.
Ensure that the DNCS application is still stopped.

In rare cases, the DNCS application may have restarted.

If the DNCS application restarted, follow the Stopping the DNCS
procedure in Appendix A.
10. Will you be upgrading the Cisco Application Server?
