An RCS allows cable operators to manage several remote headend sites from a
central DNCS. This architecture can reduce the cost of operations because it does not
require a separate DNCS operator at the remote site. With RCS, a DNCS
administrator at a central DNCS can provision and manage a Remote Network
Control Server (RNCS) for each remote site. After each RNCS is configured, a
centralized DNCS and SARA Server can communicate with these unmanned sites
across a T1 data link.
