Introduction
The Cisco CableCARD module uses two unique identifiers: the
CableCARD ID and the CableCARD MAC Address. The CableCARD
ID is an 8-byte binary number that is derived from the MAC Address
of the CableCARD module. The CableCARD ID appears on the screen
when the subscriber inserts the card into the TV. The CableCARD
MAC Address is used to provide conditional access and copy
protection authorization.
