Follow these instructions to determine whether port 5161 on each Alarm
Manager server is available for the NMI software to receive SNMP requests.

From an xterm window on each Alarm Manager server, type
grep 5161 /etc/services and then press Enter.

Is port 5161 available for the NMI software to receive SNMP requests?
Notes:
If port 5161 does not appear in the output of the command, then it is
available to receive SNMP requests.
If an entry for this port does appear in the output, the port is available for
use to receive SNMP requests as long as the comment portion of the
entry indicates something similar to "Used by NMI".

for use.
If an entry for this port does appear in the output, the port is available for
communicating with the DNCS as long as the comment portion of the
entry indicates something similar to "Used by NMI".
