Chapter 2 Installing the Alarm Manager Software

2 Did the Introduction window appear?
If yes, go to step 3.
If no, follow these instructions.
a Right-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and select Open.
a Right-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and select Open.
b Right-click on the CD drive that contains the Alarm Manager CD and
select Open.
c Double-click on the program called EMS_Client_#.#.#.#.exe.
Result: The InstallAnywhere installation wizard program starts and the
Alarm Manager Introduction window opens.
3 Read the messages on the Introduction window and then click Next. The
Software License Agreement window opens.
4 On the Software License Agreement window, select the I accept the terms of the
License Agreement option, and then click Next.
Result: One of the following events happens:

If you are installing the Alarm Manager software for the first time, the
Choose Install Folder window opens.
If you are upgrading an existing version of the Alarm Manager software, the
Previous DBDS EMS Install Found message appears.
5 Did the Previous DBDS EMS Install Found message appear?
If yes (you are upgrading an existing version of the Alarm Manager
software), go to step 9.
If no (you are installing the Alarm Manager software for the first time), go to
step 6.
6 In the Where Would You Like to Install? text box, type the name of the directory
into which you want to install the Alarm Manager software.
Note: The default directory is C:\Program Files\EMS.

7 In the space provided, write the name of the directory where you chose to install
the Alarm Manager client software.

8 Click Next. The Choose Shortcut Folder window opens.
Notes:
The Choose Shortcut Folder window allows you to select the method you
will use to start the Alarm Manager client software.
The system selects In a new Program Group: EMS by default.
9 Select how you would like to start the Alarm Manager software.
Note: If you select On the Desktop, the system creates the Alarm Manager icons
on the desktop.
10 Click Next. The Pre-Installation Summary window opens.
