If you experience problems while operating your Micron, please 
use the following table to check for possible causes and solutions 
before contacting Alesis customer service for assistance. 
 

The display does not light up
when the ON/OFF switch
is turned on. 

  No 

power. 

  Check that the power 

adapter  is plugged in 
properly. 

No sound. 

 

Bad Connections. 

 

Check your audio cables; if 
necessary, swap cables. 

 

 

Volume is turned down. 

 

Raise the Volume  knob or 
Exp pedal. 

 

 

Local keyboard is disabled.   

In the config menu, Set Local 
Control to “on.” 

 

 

 

Change Setups to revert to 
default values. 

 

 

External MIDI device sent 
Volume (CC#7) or 
Expression (CC#11) 
commands with a value 
approaching 0. 

 Re-transmit 

higher 

values 

from MIDI device. 

 

Sustain pedal was plugged in 
after power was turned on. 

 

Turn the unit’s power off, 
wait a moment, and then 
turn it on again. 

Notes sustain continuously. 

 Stuck notes due to 

incomplete MIDI data. 

 

Press the [programs] button 
twice in quick succession 
(double-click)

. 

  

In 

the 

config menu, Set Local 

Control to “off.” 

Notes played from Micron 
have a “doubled” or 
“flanged” sound 

 

Local Control is set to “on,” 
and MIDI echo/Thru is 
enabled on external MIDI 
device or computer. 

  Disable MIDI echo/Thru 

on external MIDI device. 

Tempo cannot be controlled
from within the Micron. 

 

MIDI sync is set to “on.” 
 

 In 

the 

config menu, Set MIDI 

sync to “off” or “gen MIDI 
clock.” 
 
Alternatively, ensure that any 
external devices are not 
sending MIDI sync 
information to the Micron.
