Receiving While Performing Other Tasks
Since the copier/fax is a multitasking device, it can receive faxes and voice calls while
you are entering your user information, making copies, or printing a document from
memory.
If you receive a fax while you are copying or printing a document from memory, the
copier/fax stores the incoming fax in memory. Then, as soon as you finish copying or
printing, the copier/fax automatically prints the fax. If you are registering information,
the fax is printed as soon as it is received, and does not go into memory.
Receiving Faxes in Memory When a Problem Occurs
If the copier/fax encounters a problem when it is receiving a fax, the unit automatically
stores the unprinted pages of the fax in memory, and the LCD displays 
REC’D IN
MEMORY
as well as one or more messages. For details on the action to take,

• The copier/fax memory can store up to approximately 42 pages.*
• You can set the copier/fax not to store faxes in memory if a problem occurs during
• Once the pages are printed, they are deleted from memory.
• If the memory becomes full, you will not be able to receive the remaining pages. Contact
the other party and ask them to send the fax again.
Canceling Receiving
Follow this procedure if you want to stop receiving a fax before reception is completed:
