Vocal mute 
function
V.MUTE ON        V.MUTE OFF
Use this function on stereo sources to 
block out the vocals so you can sing along 
to the music.
This function is not suitable for the 
following sources.
Monaural recordings
Classical music or works performed by 
a limited number of instruments
Chorus works or duets

Changing the key
You can choose a level between -6 and +6.

The factory setting is MIC 3.
Adding an echo

The effect increases with the level. 
To record your karaoke performance

Choose “Off” for karaoke.
Choose “V1” or “V2” to duet with the player.

Television displays are shown in parentheses ( ) .
AUDIO L R (LR):  Left channel sound is heard from the left speaker 
and right channel sound is heard from the right 
speaker — vocal and accompaniment
AUDIO L (L):  Only left channel sound  —  no vocal
AUDIO R (R):  Only right channel sound  — vocal
Select no vocal for karaoke.
Vocal and no vocal may be reversed.

Prepare for recording (➡ page 25).
Select the source and the audio mode. (➡ see left)

Press [– MIC VOL +] on the 
main unit to adjust the mic 
volume.

Press  [*, RECORD] on 
the main unit and then 
start singing.
To record VCD with playback control
  Press [g, STOP]
  Select the track with the numbered buttons (➡ page 13), then start recording.
You can also use the microphone without any backing music.

  Press [*, RECORD] on the main unit and speak through the microphone.

  Press [– MIC VOL +] on the main unit to adjust the mic volume.
To stop recording
Press [g, STOP].
Note
To play the recorded tape, be sure to select the “AUDIO LR” mode.
