 HD6151 only: Set the required frying time (see section ‘Timer’ in this chapter). 
You can also use the fryer without setting the timer.

 Press the release button on the handle of the basket (1) and carefully fold the handle against 
the fryer (). (Fig. 10)
During frying, the temperature light comes on and goes out from time to time to indicate that the
heating element is switched on and off to maintain the correct temperature.
timer (HD6151 only) 
The timer indicates the end of the frying time, but does NOT switch off the fryer.
setting the timer
 1 
 Press the timer button to set the frying time in minutes.  (Fig. 11)
The set time becomes visible on the display.
  
 Keep the button pressed to set the minutes forward quickly. Release the button once the 
required frying time has been reached.
The maximum time that can be set is 99 minutes.
A few seconds after you have set the frying time, the timer starts to count down.
While the timer counts down, the remaining frying time blinks on the display. The last minute 
is displayed in seconds.
Note:You can erase the timer setting by pressing the timer button for 2 seconds (at the moment the 
timer blinks) until ‘00’ appears.
  
 When the preset time has elapsed, you hear an audible signal. After 10 seconds, the audible 
signal is repeated. Press the timer button to stop the audible signal.

 Fold out the handle of the basket.  (Fig. 8)
  
 Press the release button to open the lid.  (Fig. )
Beware of the hot steam and possible spattering of the oil.
  
 Carefully remove the basket from the fryer.
To remove excess oil or fat, shake the basket over the fryer. Put the fried food in a bowl or colander 
that contains grease-absorbing paper, e.g. kitchen paper.
  
 Turn the temperature control to ‘OFF’ and unplug the appliance after use. 
Note:If you do not use the fryer regularly, we advise you to remove the oil or liquid fat and to store it in 
well-closed containers, preferably in the refrigerator or in a cool place.

In figure 2 you find an overview of the quantities, frying temperatures and preparation times for 
various types of food. Always stick to the information in this table or on the package of the food to
be fried.
cleaning
Let the oil or fat cool down for at least  hours before you clean or move the fryer.
Do not use any abrasive (liquid) cleaning agents or materials (e.g scouring pads) to clean the 
appliance.
