Altimeter  with  Barometer  and  Compass  (RA123).  The 
RA123  is  a  very  useful  product  for  any  outdoor  activity. 
Equipped with altimeter, barometer, compass, temperature, 
weather forecast, clock and alarm functions makes it the 
perfect companion for any user who wishes to venture into 
the great outdoors. In addition its carabineer design allows 
you to carry it around securely wherever you go.

•   The measurement functions built into the RA123 are 

not  meant  to  substitute  professional  measurement 
or  industrial  precision  devices.  Values  produced 
by  this  device  should  be  considered  as  reasonable 
representations only.

• 

The  RA123  carabineer  is  not  designed  for  mountain 
climbing.  Always  make  sure  to  use  a  professional 
carabineer  when  mountain  climbing.    Oregon

Press and hold TIME until LCD display is activated.

RA123 uses 2 x CR2032 lithium battery, which has already 
been installed. See below for battery warnings.

                                                             The device battery is low.

  NOTE    If  you  need  to  replace  the  battery,  we  highly 
recommend  you  contact  the  retailer  or  our  customer 
service department.
To replace battery:

 

1.  Use  a  Phillips  screwdriver  to  unscrew  the  lid  of  the 

battery compartment.

2.  Remove  the  old  battery  and  insert  the  new  one 

matching the polarities.

3.  Replace  the  lid  using  a  Phillips  screwdriver,  screw 

until firmly in place.

  NOTE    When  battery  is  replaced  it  is  important  to  re-
calibrate the compass’s magnetic sensor. 

  NOTE    While  the  low  battery  icon 

  is  displayed, 

instant altitude, maximum altitude, air pressure, sea level 
pressure, temperature and compass values show “ - - “ . It 
will return to normal once battery has been replaced. 

Press TIME to switch between:

 to turn backlight ON for 3 seconds.

 NOTE  The backlight and LED functions will not operate 
while the low battery icon 

 is displayed and it will return 

to normal once battery has been replaced.

To toggle keypad lock ON / OFF:
Press  and  hold

The  altimeter  measures  altitude  in  either  metres  or  feet. 
The device is equipped with an intelligent barometer that 
determines altitude by the built-in sensor with the advanced 
Baro-compensation  technology.  It  also  distinguishes  the 
differences  between  pressure  caused  by  the  changes 
in  physical  altitudes  and  pressure  caused  by  weather 
conditions.  This  eliminates  discrepancies  and  makes  the 
altimeter more accurate than most of the average devices 
available on the market. Maximum altitude and instant sea 
level pressure readings are also provided.

The altitude is automatically measured from the moment 
you  switch  on  the  device.  It  will  supply  you  with  both 
barometer  readings  as  well  as  the  maximum  sea  level 
pressure readings.

To set and reset altimeter:
1.  Press ALT / + to navigate to altimeter mode.
2.  Press and hold ALT / + to enter settings.
3.   Press ALT / + or BARO / - to change setting. 
4.    Press TIME to confirm and move to the next setting. 

The  setting  options  are  as  follows:  adjust  altitude; 
reset maximum altitude. 

5.   Press  ALT/+;  choose  NO  to  keep  maximum 

altituderecorded or YES to reset memory data. Press 
TIME to confirm.

1.  Press BARO / - to navigate to barometer mode.
2.   Press and hold BARO / - to enter settings.  
3.    Press ALT / + or BARO / - to change setting.
4.    Press TIME to confirm and move to the next setting. 

The  setting  options  are  as  follows:  adjust  sea  level 
pressure; toggle weather forecast icons.

5.    Press TIME to confirm.

 NOTE  When sea level pressure is changed, the altitude 
will adjust itself accordingly.

1.  Press TIME to navigate to Time mode.
2.  Press and hold TIME to enter settings.
3.   Press ALT / + or BARO / - to change setting.
4.   Press TIME to confirm and move to the next setting. 

The  setting  options  are  as  follows:  12  /  24-hour 
time;  hour;  minute;  year;  day-month  /  month-day; 
month;  day;  temperature;  altitude  and  barometer 
measurement units.

5.   Press TIME to confirm.

 NOTE  If no key is pressed for 30 seconds, the display will 
return to previous mode.

1.    Press TIME to navigate to Alarm mode.
2.    Press and hold TIME to enter settings.
3.    Press ALT / + or BARO / - to change setting. 
4.    Press TIME to confirm and move to the next setting. 

The setting options are as follows: hour; minute; alarm 
ON / OFF.

5.    Press TIME to confirm.

 indicates that the alarm has been activated.

 NOTE  When the alarm clock is activated, it will sound at 
the set time every day. Press any button to stop the alarm 
for that day. The alarm clock is still active and will set off 
again the following day.

The  compass  shows  the  bearing  in  degrees  due  North 
together with 16 cardinal points. The out circumference of the 
display consists of 16 arrows that graphically indicate North. 
The last lit segment indicates North as shown below.

Press COMPASS to navigate to the Compass mode. 

 NOTE  The compass display is active for 30 seconds at 
a time. After this, the display will go back to the previous 
mode.

 NOTE  Always take bearings in the open air, not inside 
buildings, tents, caves, or other shelters.

  NOTE    Compass  readings  should  be  performed 
away from magnetic materials. Avoid large magnetic 
objects,  power  lines,  loudspeakers,  electric  motors 
etc.

Before the compass is first used, we recommend that you 
calibrate the compass sensor.

To calibrate the compass sensor:
1.  Press COMPASS to navigate to the Compass mode. 
2.  Press and hold COMPASS to enter settings mode.
3.  Press ALT / + or BARO / - to navigate to Calibration 

mode.

4.  Press TIME to begin calibration of the compass.

5.  Rotate the watch counter clockwise at the same 

speed  as  the  moving  segments  around  the 
circumference of the display. The rotation will be 
finished once you have performed 1 1⁄4 turns and 
the display will appear as shown below:

 NOTE  The compass should be calibrated:
• 

Before you use it for the first time.

• 

When the battery is replaced.

• 

Before you leave for an extended outdoor activity. 

• 

Whenever  it  is  exposed  to  strong  magnetic  sources, 
extreme cold, or you suspect that other environmental 
conditions have affected the compass readings.

• 

If  you  notice  that  the  compass  is  not  showing  the 
direction correctly.

Declination is the angle between where a compass needle 
points (magnetic North Pole) and the true North Pole. The 
declination  angle  can  vary  from  0-30  degrees  East  (E) 
or  West  (W)  and  can  be  found  on  most  maps  or  on  the 
Internet.

1.  Enter your zip code in the area provided 
2.  Click “Get Location” 
3.  Scroll down and click “Compute”

When  you  set  the  declination  angle  on  the  compass  you 
compensate for the difference between true and magnetic 
north. This makes the compass reading more accurate.

To set the declination angle:
1.  Press COMPASS to navigate to Compass mode.
2.  Press and hold COMPASS to enter settings mode.
3.  Press ALT / + or BARO / - to navigate to Declination 

mode. 

4.  Press TIME to confirm and move to the next setting.
5.  Press ALT / + or BARO / - to change setting.  The setting 

options are as follows: ON / OFF; WEST/EAST (only if 
ON is selected); degree of declination angle.

6.  Press TIME to confirm.

 TIP  Press COMPASS anytime to quickly exit.

When you do not know the declination angle, the true north 
calibration  function  can  be  used  to  compensate  for  the 
difference  between  magnetic  and  true  north.  All  you  need 
to know is the direction of true north (this can be found from 
landmarks in your immediate vicinity). Setting the true north 
calibration makes the compass reading more accurate.

To set True North calibration:
1.  Press and hold COMPASS to enter settings mode.
2.  Press ALT / + or BARO / - to navigate to North mode. 

 

3.  Press TIME to confirm and move to the next setting. 
4.  Press  ALT  /  +  or  BARO  /  -  to  change  setting.  The 

setting options are as follows: ON / OFF; point to true 
north.

5.  Press TIME to confirm.

   

 NOTE  If the declination angle is turned ON, the True north 
function will automatically turn itself OFF and vice-versa.
 TIP  Press COMPASS anytime to quickly exit.

To ensure you use your product correctly and safely, read

Remove  the  batteries  whenever  you  are  planning  to 
store the product for a long period of time.

• 

When  replacing  batteries,  use  new  batteries  as 
specified in this user manual.

• 

The product is a precision instrument. Never attempt to take 
this device apart. Contact the retailer or our customer service 
department if the product requires servicing.

• 

Do not touch the exposed electronic circuitry, as there 
is a danger of electric shock.

Check all major functions if the device has not been 
used for a long time. Maintain regular internal testing 
and cleaning of your device. Have your watch serviced

Appuyez et maintenez TIME jusqu’à ce que l’écran LCD s’allume.

Le  modèle  RA123  fonctionne  avec  deux  piles  lithium 
CR2032,  d’ores  et  déjà  installées.    Voir  ci-dessous  pour 
toute recommandation relative aux piles.

La pile de l’appareil est faible.

  REMARQUE    Si  vous  devez  remplacer  les  piles,  nous 
vous  recommandons  de  contacter  le  distributeur  ou  le 
service clientèle. 
Pour remplacer les piles : 

1.   Utilisez un tournevis Phillips pour dévisser le couvercle 

du compartiment des piles. 

2.   Remplacez les piles usagées et insérez les nouvelles 

en respectant les signes de polarité.

3.   Remettez le couvercle en place à l’aide d’un tournevis 

Phillips, vissez jusqu’à ce qu’il soit fermement fixé. 

 REMARQUE  Lorsque l’on remplace les piles, il est important 
d’étalonner à nouveau le capteur magnétique de la boussole. 

  REMARQUE    Lorsque  l’icône  de  faiblesse  des  piles 

 

s’affiche,  les  valeurs  de  l’altitude  instantanée,  de  l’altitude 
maximum, de la pression de l’air, de la pression du niveau de la 
mer, des températures et de la boussole indiqueront «- - «.  Elles 
reviendront en monde normal une fois les piles remplacées. 

Appuyez sur TIME pour alterner entre :

 REMARQUE  La fonction rétro éclairage et voyant LED ne

fois les piles remplacées. 

Pour alterner entre le verrouillage ou le déverrouillage 
des touches :
Appuyez  et  maintenez

Activer le voyant LED : 
Appuyez sur   .

L’altimètre mesure l’altitude en mètres ou en pieds.  L’appareil 
est  équipé  d’un  baromètre  déterminant  l’altitude  à  l’aide 
d’un  capteur  intégré  et  de  la  technologie  de  compensation 
barométrique avancée.  Il permet également de différencier 
la pression causée par les changements d’altitude et par les 
conditions  climatiques.    Ce  qui  permet  d’éliminer  les  écarts 
et de rendre l’altimètre encore plus précis que la plupart des 
appareils disponibles sur le marché.   Il vous permet également 
de  bénéficier  des  relevés  des  pressions  instantanées  du 
niveau de la mer et d’altitude maximum. 

L’altitude  est  automatiquement  mesurée  du  moment  où 
vous activez l’appareil.  Vous pourrez bénéficier des relevés 
barométriques des pressions maximum du niveau de la mer. 

Régler et réinitialiser l’altimètre: 
1.   Appuyez  sur  ALT  /  +  pour  naviguer  dans  le  Mode 

Altimètre.

2.   Appuyez et maintenez la touche ALT / + pour entrer 

dans les réglages.

3.   Appuyez sur ALT / + ou BARO / - pour modifier les 

réglages.  

4.   Appuyez sur TIME pour confirmer le réglage et passer 

au  suivant.Les  options  de  réglage  se  présentent 
de  la  manière  suivante :  ajustement  de  l’altitude, 
réinitialisation de l’altitude maximum.

5.   Appuyez  sur  ALT/+  ;  sélectionnez  NO  (NON) 

pour  conserver  les  relevés  de  l’altitude  maximum 
enregistrée ou YES (OUI) pour réinitialiser les données 
de la mémoire. Appuyez sur TIME pour confirmer.

1.   Appuyez  sur  BARO  /  -  pour  naviguer  dans  le  Mode 

Baromètre.

2.   Appuyez et maintenez la touche BARO / - pour avoir 

accès aux réglages.

3.   Appuyez sur ALT / + ou BARO / - pour modifier les réglages. 
4.   Appuyez  sur  TIME  pour  confirmer  le  réglage  et  passer 

au suivant.  Les options de réglage se présentent de la 
manière suivante : ajustement des pressions du niveau de 
la mère ; navigation entre les icônes de prévisions météo. 

5.   Appuyez sur TIME pour confirmer. 

 REMARQUE  Une fois la pression du niveau de la mer 
modifiée, l’altitude s’ajustera automatiquement. 

1.   Appuyez sur TIME pour naviguer dans le Mode Heure.
2.   Appuyez  et  maintenez  la  touche  TIME  pour  entrer 

dans les réglages.

3.   Appuyez sur ALT / + ou BARO / - pour modifier les réglages. 
4.   Appuyez sur TIME pour confirmer le réglage et passer 

au suivant.  Les options de réglage se présentent de la 
manière suivante : format 12 ou 24 h ; heure ; minute ; 
année ; jour-mois / mois-jour ; mois ; jour ; unités de 
température, d’altitude et de mesure barométrique.  

5.   Appuyez sur TIME pour confirmer. 

 REMARQUE  Si aucune touche n’est activée pendant 30 
secondes, l’affichage revient au mode précédant.

1.   Appuyez sur TIME pour naviguer dans le mode Alarme.
2.   Appuyez  et  maintenez  la  touche  TIME  pour  entrer 

dans les réglages.

3.   Appuyez sur ALT / + ou BARO / - pour modifier les réglages.
