User’s Guide

 

 

Moves or renames a file or directory. 

MOVE Source [Target] 
 
  Source 

Specifies the path and name of the file(s) to move. 

  Target 

Specifies the path and name to move file(s) to. 

 

Removes (deletes) a directory. 

RMDIR [/S] [/Q] [drive:]path 
RD [/S] [/Q] [drive:]path 
 
  /S      Removes all directories and files in the  
 

    specified directory in addition to the   

 

    directory itself.  Used to remove a  

 

    directory tree. 

  /Q      Quiet mode, do not ask if ok to remove a  
 

    directory tree with /S 

 

Sets console screen information. 

 
SCREEN [width height] 
 
  width   Specifies width of the console window. 
  height  Specifies height of the console window. 

 

Displays, sets, or removes command prompt environment variables. 

SET [variable=[string]] 
 
  variable 

Specifies the environment-variable name. 

  string 

Specifies a series of characters to  

 

 

assign to the variable. 

 

Type SET without parameters to display the current environment variables.
