•  Create a new MIDI assignment. Choose Note On as the MIDI message type, set the 

base pitch to 60, and assign the velocity to Pads.x. Your MIDI assignment should 
resemble the one shown below. 

 

 

•  Click OK to save this MIDI assignment. 

•  Click the MIDI Map icon to look at the MIDI Mapping window. Now successive 

notes are assigned to buttons of the Pads object, from left to right. The first four are 
shown below. 

 

 

You can use more than 12 pads to create a bigger keyboard if you wish.
