Fading effects in and out
You can smooth the application of an effect by fading
it in at the beginning of the clip, fading it out at the end
of the clip, or both.
When an effect fades in, its numeric parameters are
initially set to neutral values. As the clip begins to play,
each parameter gradually approaches its configured
value, until by the end of the fade duration the effect is
at full strength. Fading out reverses the process, by
moving from the configured to the neutral values in the
closing portion of the clip.

The durations for fades are set in seconds and frames
using the counters at the bottom of the parameters
panel for the effect. Fades can be set to any length, but

Previewing and rendering
While you are working with the Video effects tool,
