playback control buttons (10,11,12,14,15). For music and video, the play (10), pause
(15), stop (14), reverse (11) and forward (12) buttons work as on any other appliance
(DVD or VCR). For Pictures, only play and stop buttons are active.
Note that for easy access to a single media, pressing either OK or Right arrow buttons
are equivalent to pressing the Play button as far as a media is highlighted. Also, the
Left arrow button is equivalent to the Stop button when a media is playing.
3.4.2
Playing multiple media (automatic playlist)
When a container is highlighted, you can either press OK or Right arrow to enter it and
continue navigating inside. Pressing the “Play” button when a container is highlighted
will play its content, automatically chaining media found one level deeper automati-
cally. Such locations are marked with a special “playlist” icon on the left.
This feature is very useful to listen to a whole music album, or to display a slideshow
from a bunch of files downloaded from a digital camera.
3.4.3
The Internet Bookmarks category
When your shared folders contain Internet shortcuts, they will be displayed under this
category. Selecting one of them will bring the Internet page it points to. You can use
the remote control for simple browsing by moving the link marker (the square green
box) over the desired link, then pressing OK. Page scroll automatically occurs when
needed. Pressing STOP brings you back to the navigation interface.
This feature is not intended for heavy browsing in front of the TV set. The most inter-
esting way to use it is too bookmark either media pages (such as Internet radios or live
TV channels) or information pages such as CNN.com. mediaCTRL Center gives you
instant access to the headline news to get a quick picture of what’s happening and
gives you a simple way to go one step further.
