Ethernet LAN Service
Inspector and Tester
Test, troubleshoot and verify services on any
copper Ethernet LAN.
and KE7010 Remotes
KE7200
· Checks for common faults like opens, shorts and mis-wires
· Detects split pairs even for short cables
· Displays line voltage
· Measures cable length and distance to fault (TDR)
· Discovers 10/100/gigabit LAN service in jacks
· Blink-identifies switch ports using Link activity lights
· Tests LANs using Static IP or DHCP
· List of active LAN devices with IP, MAC and Name
· Ping with different frame sizes, continuous ping
· POE test to IEE802.3af standard including actual available
power in watts
· The main unit works with up to 32 individual remotes
· Remote LEDs also show Pass/Fail for cable tests
· Four high-power selectable cable trace signals for:
 -  cable tracking inside walls
 -  individual pair identification
 -  tone tracing over active lines
· Protected against stray voltages to 200 V
· Low battery indication and auto shut off
The KE7200 LAN Tester is an easy-to-use electronic test tool that verifies and troubleshoots all types of
Ethernet installations, from essential copper wiring tests to active IP PING. Advanced copper test
capabilities include active TDR for cable length and detection of split pairs even on jumpers (down to 1
meter or 3 feet). The KE7200 can show multiple faults simultaneously.
Essential Copper Tests
The KE7200 tests for wire continuity, opens, shorts, miswires and split pairs. It also displays the length of
the cable pairs or distance to faults. KE7010 Remotes can be set for any ID from 0 to 32.
Active Testing
The KE7200 LAN Tester finds and displays network-connected devices with their IP/MAC addresses. It
works with either DHCP or fixed IP services. Connected devices can be PINGed one by one with
selectable frame lengths and CRC errors are displayed if they occur. This serves as a stress test for all
network elements.
Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) per IEEE 802.3af
The KE7200 not only checks for availability of PoE, it detects the type available and the available power
level in watts. PoE is appearing more commonly as devices like wireless access points (WAP), IP cameras
and IP telephones grow in popularity -- mismatches between equipment and the supply of power can
cause a variety of problems.
