If you are using the built-in WindowsXP Firewall
Currently you need to disable this firewall for the MediaMVP to work correctly. Please

Disabling WindowsXP firewall
To disable the Windows XP firewall, click Start and then
go into Control Panel and then Network Connections. Click
on Local Area Connection. You will see the Local Area
Connection Properties menus. Click on the Advanced
tab and unclick “Protect my computer”.
