3. In the Computer name box, type a unique, identify-

ing name for this particular computer. This will be the

name of this computer used by other computers on

your network to communicate with. Each computer’s

name must be unique on a particular network to avoid

confusion. Please note that the computer’s name

should not be more than 15 characters without space.

4. Type the workgroup name which this computer will

belong to in the Workgroup box. All the computers

on your network should have an identical Workgroup

name.

5. The Computer Description box is optional. You

may enter a description that helps to identify this

computer on your network. Then click Close.

6. Repeat this process for each computer on your net-

work to ensure that they all have unique “Computer
Name” and identical “Workgroup”.
