In a Thin Client installation the devices’ remote central management
tool takes on a decisive role and turns out as an essential element
to bring down management costs, simplifying and reducing the time
required to manage all the network devices.
Centralized remote control
ThinMan is a software tool that can be installed on any PC, Server,
Terminal Server of the Windows family. ThinMan allows to search
for all installed Praim network devices by showing them in tree
views and organizing groups such as remote locations or IP network
range.
Easy to use
The graphics interface is
simple,  intuitive  and  identifies
each device with specific icons
automatically.
The user can easily monitor,
back up, restore and update
all the devices as well
as, if needed, get in a full
complete management and
configuration of the endpoints.
Automatic search of network devices
It allows to carry out an automatic search of all Praim devices
present in the network, both through broadcast and through IP
range. In such a way, users can browse devices in a local LAN and in
complex WAN geographical networks.
Device TCP notifications
ThinMan detects the first power-on of any Praim device connected
to  the  network,  giving  notification  to  the  administrator,  and
accordingly enabling the complete remote management of it.
Group management
It allows the positioning, even automatic, of the devices in specific
groups,  organised  upon  their    specific  IP  address  range  or  their
physical disposition. It is then possible to apply rules to the groups
for the execution of immediate or scheduled actions.
Chronological view and sort
Through  ThinMan  services  the  user  can  list  notifications  of  new
installed devices or recent states by displaying them in chronological
order and facilitating the searches. Devices can be also ordered by
Name, IP, MAC, Model, Version.
EndPoint remote control
The administrator may carry out, where needed, a device remote
assistance by remote controlling video, mouse and keyboard of a
Praim Thin Client. The admin has to send an authorization request to
the user who decide whether accept or refuse the service according
to safety policies.
Contextual management menu
Every device model, administered by ThinMan, has its own menu
of contextual options where the user can perform all the remote
management activities supported by that specific model. The menus
can be loaded dynamically based on the device model and version.
Edit, back-up and restore configuration
It  allows  a  remote  device’  configuration  with  the  purpose  of
modifying it or just saving and restoring it later on the remote device.
Import and export function in a Template file
It  allows  to  export  a  device  configuration  as  a  template  to  be  re-
imported on other devices. This function helps users to easily and
quickly duplicate the needed configuration.
Switching On-Off
ThinMan supports the remote power on and off on those Thin
Clients equipped with a Wake On LAN support. With a simple click,
users can easily power on and off remote devices on the network
(even groups at scheduled tasks).
Backup and global restoring
ThinMan allows global
backups of all the managed
network devices including
their specific configurations,
helping to restore, in case of
fault, the entire  ThinMan
management console or just
specific  configuration  on
single devices.
Firmware updating
ThinMan integrates the FTP and HTTP services enabling the
dispatch of updates to all controlled devices. In such a way, when
a new update is released, it is possible to keep the installed base
updated without performing any local operations. The operation can
be performed on both single devices or groups of devices in multiple
and scheduled mode.
SNMP support
Through ThinMan the user can also research and list any network
device with a SNMP support. In such a way Praim devices as well
as any other appliances connected to the network can be easily
detected, listed and monitored by the user.
Multiple actions
ThinMan supports the execution of remote operations for device
groups. The user using a multiple selection can directly and easily
switch on or update an entire group of devices. ThinMan supports a
wide range of multiple actions including switching on/off, restarting,
updating, sending configuration and so forth.
Integrated scheduler
The integrated scheduler allows to plan single, multiple or group
operations towards remote devices. ThinMan will then indipendtly
perform the preset operations. These actions can be saved, executed
again, programmed with cyclic intervals or, their properties,
modified.
Usage as a service
ThinMan can run as an independent service that manage all the main
operations without graphic interface or physical users logged in the
console. In such a way, all the notifications and scheduled operations
are managed without any interaction of the operator and at each
start of the console the latest devices status update are reported
automatically.
Powerful Help Desk console
ThinMan Platinum Edition offers the opportunity to equip your Help
Desk staff with credentials to access ThinMan services and perform
end-users assistance. The access can be performed based on either
assigned roles, native Windows client or Web access.
XP Embedded Thin Client cloning
ThinMan integrates a PXE / TFTP / DHCP
proxy service enabling the user to perform
the backup and restore of XP embedded
Thin  Clients  configuration  through  LAN
or duplication of devices disk images. This
service allows to create customized device
images or restore devices with default images.
Profile Manager service
The Profile Manager service allows the dynamic management of the
device configuration profiles. This feature enables to deliver to Thin
Clients the configuration settings based on policies defined for each
user, group or device policies.
ThinMan  Profile  Manager  is  also  a  user’s  authentication  gateway
that interfaces Thin Clients towards an Active Directory domain
and, based on configured policies, checks users log-in and applies the
specific device configuration accordingly.
The Profile Manager is a reliable and secure service. It is based its
communication on HTTPS protocol and provide a secondary fault
tolerance service.
ThinMan Profile Manager is designed to be extremely scalable, from
small installations of a few units, using an integrated HSQLDB, to
enterprise installations of thousand devices relying on an external
MySQL database.
All these features are currently fully manageable through ThinMan
Profile Manager on Praim Thin Clients XT ThinOX V8.
Praim TCE-Virtual Desktop Agent Support
By using the Praim TCe Virtual Desktop Agent, users can also view
and manage Virtual Desktops, dynamically displaying the related
End  Point  information.  For  more  information  refer  to  the  specific
product.
Support Praim TCE Workstation Client
By installing the Praim Workstation Client on Widows platforms,
ThinMan enables to view and manage also Personal Computers.
It allows operations such as search on the network, monitoring,
remote shadowing and inventory. For more information refer to the
specific product.
