Modern  IT  architectures  are  characterized  by  a

Elegance-Series from IGEL Technology follows this 
trend with an intelligent as well as elegant approach. 
The  integration  of  an  ultra-modern  Clever  Client  in 
a top-quality TFT display results in an efficient and 
optically appealing computing unit with a minimum 
of energy consumption. 

Concentrated power, smallest footprint
With  its  Elegance-Series,  IGEL  has  created  an 
efficient synthesis of a top-quality TFT display and 
an extremely powerful IGEL Clever Client. The two 
Elegance  models,  IGEL-9317  LX  and  IGEL-9617 
XP, offer the complete range of the IGEL Premium-
Series  in  terms  of  software  functionality.  On  the 
hardware  side,  this  is  supported  by  a  1  GHz  VIA 
Eden  CPU  and  256  MB  RAM.  This  facilitates  a 
multitude of applications based on Windows XPe or 
IGEL Embedded Flash Linux.

High graphics power, WLAN and 
optional touch-screen
For many industries it is a top priority to have com-
pact  and  powerful  computers  that  communicate 
wirelessly.  The  IGEL  Elegance-Series  makes  it 
possible to create ultra-modern IT workstations even 
when space is at a premium. Clever Clients providing 
WLAN  capability  as  a  standard  are  therefore  ideal 
for  airport  gates,  bank  counters,  reception  desks 
at doctor’s surgeries, clinics or government offices, 
as  well  as  for  cash  point  or  presentation  terminals 
at  the  Point  of  Sale  (PoS).  The  high-quality  TFT 
display  reproduces  the  excellent  image  quality 
of  the  integrated  IGEL  Clever  Client  with  clarity 
and  precision.  With  a  special  view  to  use  at  the 
PoS,  IGEL  also  offers  these  models  with  a  touch-
screen  option.  This  opens  up  new  and  innovative 
possibilities, especially in the retail industry. 

Efficient, available and secure
Clever  Clients  are  quick  and  easy  to  configure, 
so  these  space-saving  multitalents  can  be  rapidly 
integrated  with  any  existing  IT  architecture  without 
any  problems.  The  software  ensures  maximum 
versatility  and  reliability  in  accessing  applications 
on the Linux and Microsoft Windows XPe operating 
systems.  It  also  facilitates  a  wide  range  of  value-
added  services  like  video  streaming  or  voice-over-
IP. The internal Smartcard reader supports modern 
authentication  and  security  solutions  such  as 
Public  Key  Infrastructures  (PKI)  and  Virtual  Private 
Networks (VPN). They can also be realised with the 
Cisco VPN client that comes as part of the package, 
or individually installed by the user in the XP model.
