SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS/FILTERING 3.1 
FOR DOMINO ON WINDOWS NT/2000
Lotus Domino Server
a) Lotus Domino R5.0.8 or later running on either:
– Windows NT 4.0 Server with SP6a, –
OR
–
Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server with
SP2 or higher
b) Lotus Domino 6.0 or later running on Windows
2000 Server/Advanced Server with SP2or higher
Lotus Notes Client
To access the Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for
Domino databases, either of the following is required:
• Lotus Notes R5.0.8 –
OR
– Lotus Notes 6.0 or later
– 128 MB RAM minimum (256 MB RAM or
more recommended)
– 300 MB available disk space
SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS/FILTERING 3.0 FOR DOMINO
ON iSERIES, AIX, SOLARIS, AND LINUX
iSeries minimum system requirements
The password to the QSECOFR user profile and
administrator-level privileges to the Lotus Notes
server are required to install Symantec
AntiVirus/Filtering for Domino on iSeries.
• Lotus Notes Domino Server R5 version 5.0.8 
or higher
– Operating system iSeries V4R4 or higher
– 85 MB space in the QNOTES user profile
– 85 MB space in the QSECOFR user profile
– iSeries Developer Kit for Java, 5769JV1 
The Developer Kit for Java may not be installed by
default. Use DSPSFWRSC to verify that the
Developer Kit for Java is installed. Install will fail if
Developer Kit for Java is not installed. Use DSPS-
FWRSC to verify that QSHELL is installed.
• Lotus Domino 6 version 6.0 or later
– Operating system iSeries V5R1 or higher
– 85 MB space in the QNOTES user profile
– 85 MB space in the QSECOFR user profile
– iSeries Developer Kit for Java, 5769JV1 
The Developer Kit for Java may not be installed by
default. Use DSPSFWRSC to verify that the
Developer Kit for Java is installed. Install will fail if
Developer Kit for Java is not installed. Use DSPS-
FWRSC to verify that QSHELL is installed.
AIX minimum system requirements
Administrator-level privileges to both AIX and the
Lotus Notes server are required to install Symantec
AntiVirus/Filtering for Domino on AIX.

– Operating system AIX Version 4.3.2 or higher 
(For AIX Version 4.3.2, patch package xlc.aix43.rte
version 4.0.2.1 or higher is required)
– 200 MB available disk space
• Lotus Domino 6 version 6.0 or later
– Operating system AIX version 5.1 or higher
Solaris SPARC minimum system requirements
Root-level privileges are required to install or 
uninstall Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for Domino
on Solaris SPARC
• Lotus Notes Domino Server R5 version 5.0.8 
or higher
– Operating system Solaris 2.6, 7, or 8
– 200 MB free disk space
• Lotus Domino 6 version 6.0
– Operating system Solaris 8
– 200 MB available disk space
Linux minimum system requirements
Administrator-level privileges to both Linux and 
the Lotus Domino server are required to install
Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for Domino on Linux
• Lotus Notes Domino Server R5 version 5.0.9 
or higher
– 0perating systems Red Hat versions 7.3 
and SuSE 7.3 or higher
(NOTE: Although testing has not been completed
for other Linux versions, preliminary results indi-
cate that Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for Domino
should operate properly.) Other versions are neither
certified nor supported.
