Welcome to the Tiva C Series DK-TM4C129X Development Kit. The DK-TM4C129X
is a complete development platform that provides everything you need to develop
applications for the Tiva C Series TM4C129x microcontrollers.

Board Setup
Install Power Select jumper J11 (top left corner) to the In-Circuit Debug Interface (ICDI) for
debug power select mode. Connect one of the included USB Micro-B plug to USB-A plug
cables from a Windows-enabled PC to the ICDI Debug USB Port (top right corner) on the Tiva
TM4C129X development kit. This USB port provides JTAG debug and Virtual COM Port
connectivity via the ICDI.

Quickstart Application
The DK-TM4C129X comes preprogrammed with the weather display quickstart application.
This application demonstrates the Ethernet controller and the QVGA touch screen. When you
connect the Ethernet cable, you should see the red LED to the left and slightly above the Ethernet
connector turn on to indicate that a connection is established. The green Ethernet LED blinks to
show activity, while the amber LED lights to indicate 100BaseT Ethernet speed. Weather information
is obtained from Open Weather Map (

Software, Drivers, and Documentation
Insert the USB flash drive into your PC. Read and follow the instructions in the Read Me First file
located on the USB flash drive to install the TivaWare™ software library and the ICDI drivers.
