IRIS-Base – Getting started 

IRIS-Base is part of the IRIS product series and is developed for integration in other systems. 

The IRIS series contains several models that provide solutions to all kinds of applications. There 

are two kind of IRIS-Base. The standard version uses five volts power supply and the low power 

version uses three volts. All IRIS models can communicate with each other via radio - in pairs or 

in more complex radio networks. 

Getting started

Connect the serial interface. 

Connect the inputs and outputs. 

Connect the power supply. 

Connect the signal ground pin.

Place the antenna so it is not shielded. 

Avoid metal plating close to and between the antennas.

IRIS-Base – Product description 

IRIS-Base has serial interface, inputs and outputs, which makes it suitable to interact with 

most systems. To connect IRIS-Base to other equipment may require some additional circuits 

depending on the application. The most common use of IRIS-Base is as a radio link between 

systems that are a bit apart or mobile. The data can be directed to a PC via an IRIS-RS232 or an 

IRIS-USB, to a database on the Internet via an IRIS-CUW or it can be used to control the outputs 

on an IRIS-IO. With functions like timers, counters and text matching the IRIS-Base can be setup 

to fit many different applications.
