General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
•  Batteries/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
•   Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
•   Leaking, or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries, in contact with the skin can cause acid burns,
therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
•   Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fi re. There is a risk of
explosion!
•   Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries
that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
•  Never mix disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries, use either or.
•   Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charges (e. g. full and half-full batteries/recharge-
able batteries).
•  Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
•   Check that the polarity is correct, when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to
plus/+ and minus/-).
Getting Started and Mounting
•  Open the battery compartment cover, on the back of the sensor.
•   Insert two batteries type AA/Mignon poled correctly into the battery compartment (see illustration in the
battery compartment).
•  Close the battery compartment.
•  Detach the spy hole monitor from its retainer (by rotating it
slightly counterclockwise).
•  Remove the battery cover from the spy hole monitor.
•   Plug in the wireless receiver on the upper side of the spy hole
monitor, see illustration on the right side.
•   Put the battery compartment cover back on by snapping it in.
•  Put the spy hole monitor on its retainer and lock it.
•   Look for a proper position for the PIR motion detector. The front side with the sensor should be directed to
the area in front of your door, so that the spy hole monitor can create pictures of your visitors.
D1*: The PIR range is approximately 3 to 5 m.
D2*: The wireless range between the PIR motion detector and the
wireless receiver is approximately 5 m, depending on the mounting
place.
A1*: The acquisition angle of the PIR motion detector is approxi-
mately 60°.
•  You will fi nd a double-sided adhesive tape on the bottom side of the
retainer, so that you can very easily fi x the retainer (on fi rm, stable
underground).
If you wish to mount the PIR motion detector more durably on walls
and so on, you can also screw the retainer. Therefore, you will fi nd 4
screw holes on the bottom plate of the retainer.
Pay attention that no cable or pipes are damaged when
drilling and tightening the screws!
•   Insert the PIR motion detector into the retainer and attach it there
using the supplied fi xing screw.
•  Align the front side towards the area in front of your door.
PIR sensor features
The PIR motion detector responds to temperature changes within the detec-
tion range, e.g. if a person with a different temperature from the detection area
enters the detection area.
When the PIR motion detector recognizes a temperature change within the
detection range, the LED lights up red.
When the LED fl ashes red, the batteries are low and should be replaced by
new ones.
Replacing the Battery
Because of the lower voltage provided by rechargeable batteries (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable
battery = 1.2 V) and their lower capacity, the battery life is shorter. For this reason, we recom-
mend the product be only used with high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure a long and safe
operation.
•  Remove the PIR motion detector from the retainer by rotating the fi xing screw.
•   Open the battery compartment on the backside and replace the used batteries by two new batteries type
AA/Mignon  (ensure right polarity).
•  Close the battery compartment.
•   Insert the PIR motion detector back into its retainer and screw the fi xing screw tightly. Align the PIR motion
detector correctly.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance free, therefore you should never open or dismantle it (except to change the
battery as described in this operating instruction).
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can cause
discolouration.
Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-bristle brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
a) In general
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries; disposing them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are: Cd
