Depending on the position of the subwoofer, the 
measurement results may vary. However, there 
will be no problems even if you continue to use 
the receiver with that value.
Auto Phase Matching (A.P.M.)
Lets you set the A.P.M. function in the 
DCAC function (page 38).
It calibrates the phase characteristics of the 
speakers and ensures a well-coordinated 
surround space.
• Auto: Switches the A.P.M. function on or 
off automatically.
• Off: Does not activate the A.P.M. 
function.
• This function does not work in the following 
cases.
– “2ch Analog Direct” is being used.
– Headphones are connected.
– “Auto Calibration” has not been performed.
• The receiver may play back signals at a lower 
sampling frequency than the actual sampling 
frequency of the input signals, depending on the 
audio format.
Auto Calibration Type
Lets you select the calibration type after 
you have performed the Auto Calibration 
and saved the settings.
• Full Flat: Makes the measurement of 
frequency from each speaker flat.
• Engineer: Sets to “the Sony listening 
room standard” frequency characteristics.
• Front Reference: Adjusts the 
characteristics of all the speakers to 
match the characteristics of the front 
speaker.
• Off: Sets the Auto Calibration equalizer 
level to off.
Speaker Connection
Lets you select the speaker pattern and set 
the assignment for the SPEAKERS 
SURROUND BACK/BI-AMP/FRONT 
HIGH/FRONT B terminals.

You can only set the assignment for the 
SPEAKERS SURROUND BACK/BI-AMP/
FRONT HIGH/FRONT B terminals if the 
speaker pattern is set to a setting without surround 
back and front high speakers.
Level/Distance/Size
You can adjust the level, distance, and size 
of the selected speaker.
To adjust the speaker level
You can adjust each speaker’s level (front 
left/right, front high left/right, center, 
surround left/right, surround back left/
right, subwoofer).

Select the speaker on the screen for 
which you want to adjust the level, 
then press 
.

Select “Level”, then press 
V/v to 
adjust the level.
You can adjust the level from –10.0 dB 
to +10.0 dB in 0.5 dB intervals.
When one of the sound fields for music is 
selected, no sound is output from the subwoofer if 
all the speakers are set to “Large” in the Speaker 
Settings menu. However, the sound will be output 
from the subwoofer if
– the digital input signal contains LFE signals.
– the front or surround speakers are set to 
“Small”.
– “Multi Stereo”, “PLII Movie”, “PLII Music”, 
“PLIIx Movie”, “PLIIx Music”, “PLIIz 
Movie”, “PLIIz Music”, “HD-D.C.S.” or 
“Portable Audio” is selected.
