Additional settings

Water hardness

In order to achieve good cleaning results, the dishwasher needs to

operate with soft (low in calcium deposits) water. Hard water results

in a build-up of calcium deposits on cookware and in the dishwasher.

Water with a hardness level higher than 4 °dH needs to be softened.

This takes place automatically in the integrated water softener. The

water softener in the dishwasher is suitable for a water hardness level

of up to 70 °dH (12.6 mmol/l).
The water softener in the dishwasher has to be set to the hardness

level of your water supply.



Your local water supplier can tell you the water hardness level in

your area.



Where the water hardness fluctuates (e.g. 16-28 gpg / 15-27°d),

always program the dishwasher to the higher value (in this example,

28 gpg / 27°d).

If the hardness of your water constantly lies under 4 gpg (4 °dH), no

salt must be filled in the water softener.

It is useful to know your water hardness so that you can provide the

service technician with this information in the event of any service

calls.

The factory default for the water softener is set to a hardness of 20

gpg (19°dH).

When making the setting, please observe the following table.



Use the arrow buttons  (higher) and  (lower) to set the water

hardness required and confirm your entry using the OK button.
