Turn the [MIC] knob to adjust the input level of the internal mics.

Adjust the loudness of the sound you’re recording. Since you’re not using the line input, turn
the [LINE] knob all the way to the left (off).
While producing the sound that you’ll actually be recording, turn the [MIC] knob to adjust the
input level.
Adjust the level so that the peak indicator located above the [MIC] knob lights briefly at the
loudest moments of the performance or vocal you’ll be recording.

The input level and the recorded result
If the input level is high
There is a limit on the level that the CD-2e is able to record.
The peak indicator will light to indicate that the audio input has exceeded this limit (i.e.,
the input is too loud). If you record even though the peak indicator is lit, the recorded
audio will be distorted.
If the input level is too low
The recorded audio will not be distorted, but the playback
will not be as loud as it should be.
