ADVANCED FEATURES
Night-Scope
Makes dark subjects or areas even brighter than they
would be under good natural lighting. Although the
recorded image is not grainy, it may look as if it is strobing
due to the slow shutter speed.

Set the Power Switch to “
” or “
”. Press
REFRESH for approx. 1 second to select “VIDEO” (the
DSC Lamp goes out) or “DSC” (the DSC Lamp comes
on).

Press NIGHT-SCOPE repeatedly until the desired
mode’s name and indication appear.
They are displayed for approx. 2 seconds, then the
name disappears so that only the indication remains.
The mode is activated.

To cancel the effect, press NIGHT-SCOPE repeatedly
until “OFF” appears. “OFF” is displayed for approx.
2 seconds.

The shutter speed is automatically adjusted
(maximum 1/5 sec.).

  NIGHT 10X
*
The shutter speed is set to 1/5th of a second to provide 10
times the sensitivity.

NIGHT 50X
* (GR-SXM770A only)
The shutter speed is set to 1 second to provide 50 times
the sensitivity.

NIGHT 25X
* (GR-SXM77EA only)
The shutter speed is set to half of a second to provide 25
times the sensitivity.
*Appears when the Power Switch is set to “
”.
NOTES:
During Night-Scope, the following functions or settings
cannot be activated:
“Picture Stabiliser” (
 pg. 20), “Program AE With
Special Effects” (
 pg. 38) and “Digital Effects”
(
 pg. 39).
“GAIN” or “S.LX” in CAMERA MENU (
 pg. 41).
Night-Scope does not work when LIGHT OFF/AUTO/
ON
 is set to “AUTO” or “ON”  (
 pg. 21).
During Night-Scope, it may be difficult to bring the
camcorder into focus. To prevent this, use of a tripod is
recommended.
