User Bit
The user bit display can be selected from the date or the time of recording, or an identification code consisting of 
8 characters in the hexadecimal system. There are sixteen possible characters: the numbers 0 to 9 and the 
letters A to F.
In addition to being recorded with clips, the user bit information can be output along with the video signal output 
from the HDMI OUT terminal. 
Setting the User Bit
1 Press the MENU button.
2 Open the [User Bit Type] submenu.
[3 Recording Setup] > [2] > [User Bit Type]
3 Select the desired option.
• Select [
Setting] to set your own identification code, [
Time] 
to use the time as user bit, or [
 Date] to use the date as the user 
bit.
• If you selected [
 Time] or [
 Date], touch [X]. You do not need 
to perform the rest of the procedure. If you selected [
 Setting], continue the procedure to set the 
identification code.
4 Touch  [Í] or [Î] to set the first character and then touch the next field to set the next digit.
• Change the rest of the characters in the same way.
• Touch [Cancel] to close the screen without setting the user bit.
5 Touch [OK] and then touch [X].
User Bit Output
The user bit is output from the HDMI OUT terminal in the selected type. When the frame rate set in 
[3 Recording Setup] > [1] > [4K Recording] or [HD Recording] is 23.98P and [3 Recording Setup] > [1] 
> [User Bit Output Mode] is set to [
Pulldown], the user bit will contain 2:3 pulldown data.
