Note on video component hookups
You can connect your TV’s audio output jacks to the TV
(TV/DBS) AUDIO IN jacks on the control amplifier and
apply sound effects to the audio from the TV. In this case,
do not connect the TV’s video output jack to the TV (TV/
DBS) VIDEO IN jack on the control amplifier. If you are
connecting a separate TV tuner, connect both the audio
and video output jacks to the control amplifier as shown
below.
z
To connect equipment that alters the video signal
Use the PROCESSOR jacks. You can connect a video titler or
processor (etc.). When you output the video signals input to this
unit through the PROCESSOR OUT jacks and input the altered
signal to the PROCESSOR IN jacks, that signal is output from the
MONITOR OUT and VIDEO REC OUT jacks (see the “Video
Signal Block Diagram” on page 48 for details).
To use the PROCESSOR jacks, set the CUSTOMIZE menu’s
“V. PROCESSOR” parameter to “ON” (see page 38).
Notes on S-VIDEO jacks
• When using the S-VIDEO jacks instead of the VIDEO jacks,
your monitor must also be connected via an S-VIDEO jack.
S-video signals are on a separate bus from the video
signals and will not be output through the VIDEO jacks.
• The S-VIDEO MONITOR OUT jack on this unit is capable of
automatically switching between wide and normal screen
formats. To determine whether your video components and/
or monitor is compatible with automatic format switching,
refer to the instructions supplied with those components.
