■ Activating XM Satellite Radio
To sign up for an account with the XM Satellite Radio 
service, an XM Satellite Radio ID number is required. 
Follow the procedure below to check your ID number, 
and then visit the website or call toll-free with a major 
credit card handy for signing up.

1 Press XM repeatedly until “XM RADIO” appears in 
the front panel display.
2 Press and hold DISPLAY to check the XM Satellite 
Radio reception level.
→ “ANTENNA XX” appears (XX: reception level,
0 to 100%).
Check the XM Satellite Radio reception level and 
adjust the orientation of XM Passport System for a 
better percentage of the reception level.
If “ANTENNA” appears in the front panel display, the XM 
Passport System may not be connected to the XM jack on the 
rear panel of this DVD receiver properly. See “Connecting 
XM Passport System” on page 41
 and check the connection.
3 Press CH+ (
)/CH– (
) to select channel “0”.
→ “RADIO ID” appears in the front panel display for 
few seconds, and then the Radio ID number appears.
You cannot select channel “0” if the All Channel Search 
mode (see page 44) is not selected.
4 Check the XM Radio Satellite Radio ID number 
displayed in the front panel display and write it down.

■ Basic XM Satellite Radio 
operations
1 Press XM repeatedly until “XM RADIO” appears in 
the front panel display.
2 Press DISPLAY.
→ The XM Satellite Radio information (such as 
channel number, channel name, category, artist name, 
or song title) for the currently selected channel 
appears in the front panel display.
3 Search for a channel by using one of the XM Satellite 
Radio search modes (see page 44).
When you select “XM” as the input source, this DVD 
receiver automatically recalls the previously selected 
channel.
The XM Satellite Radio signals can be output at the LINE 
OUT jacks.
You can set the XM Satellite Radio preset channels (see 
page 45)

You can display the XM Satellite Radio information in 
the front panel display (see page 45).
