The Ariens Company will soon be introducing an improved version of the Rapid XZ for 2011. The new
version of this commercial mower will have a more reliable and more smoothly running clutch/PTO shaft
configuration that will feature a constant velocity (CV) drive shaft turning at a slower RPM. Please note that
the size of the driven pulleys on the cutting decks and the sprocket on the snow head are being altered to
maintain the original blade or snow-auger speed. Additionally, the new drive shaft will be better protected
from interference with the weight transfer bar and mower deck.

The Ariens Company has also created kits that will allow dealers to retrofit the driveline protection and
speed reduction to the earlier model Rapid XZ units listed above. The kits contain the new drivelines, belts,
pulleys and other parts necessary to make the conversion.

The basic kit, 59003800, contains all the parts necessary to update any model Rapid XZ with a 60" deck.
For Rapid XZ units with a 52" or 72" deck, the basic kit (59003800) along with a supplemental kit will be
necessary to complete the conversion. The chart below details which kits to use for each deck.
