Troubleshooting
This chapter covers potential problems and possible remedies.
 After each problem description, corrective instructions are provided to help you diagnose and solve the
correlating problem.
6.1   Problems Starting Up the Prestige

PROBLEM
CORRECTIVE ACTION
None of the LEDs light when I turn
on the Prestige.
1.  Check the connection between the AC adapter and the Prestige.
2.  If the error persists, you may have a hardware problem. In this
case you should contact your vendor.
1. Check to see if the Prestige is connected to your computer’s serial
port.
VT100 terminal emulation.
9600 bps.
I cannot access the Prestige via
the console port.
2.  Check to see if the
communications program is
configured correctly. The
communications software should
be configured as follows:
No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit,
flow control set to none.
6.2  Problems With the WAN Interface

PROBLEM
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Initialization of the PVC
connection failed.
Ensure that the cable is connected properly from the ADSL port to
the wall jack. The ADSL LED on the front panel of the Prestige
should be on. Check that your VPI, VCI, type of encapsulation and
type of multiplexing settings are the same as what you collected from
your telephone company and ISP. Reboot the Prestige. If you still
have problems then you may need to verify these variables with the
telephone company and/or ISP.
