Tests and Diagnostics 
3.1  The Diagnostic Test 
This chapter explains how to use the Diagnostic Test program to test the functions of the 
computer’s hardware modules. The Diagnostic Programs are stored on the Diagnostic Disks.  
There are Service Program Modules (DIAGNOSTIC MENU) and the Test Program Modules 
(DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU) on the Diagnostic Disks. 
NOTE:  To start the diagnostics, follow these steps: 
1.  Check all cables for loose connections. 
2.  Exit any application and close Windows. 
The DIAGNOSTIC MENU consists of the following functions.   
 DIAGNOSTIC TEST 
 HEAD CLEANING 
 LOG UTILITIES 
 RUNNING TEST 
 FDD UTILITIES 
 SYSTEM CONFIGURATION 
 SETUP 
The DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU contains the following functional tests:

 FLOPPY DISK TEST 
 PRINTER TEST 
 ASYNC TEST 
 HARD DISK TEST

 CD-ROM/DVD-ROM TEST 
 LAN TEST 
 SOUND/LAN/MODEM TEST (Sound/LAN/Modem test disk for maintenance.) 
 Wireless LAN TEST (Wireless LAN test disk for maintenance.)
