Basic Shooting

modes (1/C) on the Mode Dial for best results.

About the Auto Lighting Optimizer
In fully-automatic modes (1/C), the Auto Lighting Optimizer will
adjust the image automatically to obtain the optimum brightness
and contrast. The Auto Lighting Optimizer is also enabled by
default in all shooting modes (p.75).
