Click Start, then Turn off or Shut Down, depending on 
the system (for more information, see 

Click Turn Off or Shut Down.

The operating system turns off the computer.

Unplug and remove any cables connected to the 
computer, including the AC adapter.

Remove the main battery. For information on removing 
the main battery, see 

Close the display panel and turn the computer upside 
down to locate the memory module slot cover.

Using a standard Phillips No. 1 screwdriver, unscrew the 
screw that secures the memory module slot cover.
