consulting and design work

Gretsch Guitars. At the 2001 

Winter NAMM show, Gretsch 

introduced the Spectra Sonic 

series guitars designed by 

Tom, with the help of Rich 

Modica. TV Jones also sup-

plies the pickups and hard-

ware for these beautiful and 

unique Gretsch instruments.

a three-piece maple neck with 

33” scale and 21 frets joining 

the neck at the 15th fret, African 

padauk fingerboard with off-white 

dot inlays and corresponding side 

dots, chambered alder body with 

laminated spruce top measuring 

15 1/4” wide and 1 7/8” deep,

The six-string Spectra 

Sonic features a three-

piece mahogany neck 

with 24 1/2” inch scale, 

22 frets joining the neck 

at the 16th fret, and an 

African padauk finger-

board with off-white dot 

inlays and corresponding 

side dots. The chambered 

alder body measures 15 

1/4” wide and 1 7/8” 

deep and has a laminated 

spruce top. Other 

features include an 

aluminum Bigsby

tailpiece, custom-made 

TV Jones alnico Power-

tron pickups, adjustable 

bridge, master volume, 

master tone and three-

way pickup selector.

The six-string C Melody 

Spectra Sonic features a

29 1/4” scale and 22 frets 

joined at the 16th fret. The 

African padauk fingerboard 

has off-white dot inlays with 

corresponding side 

dots. A chambered 

alder body with 

laminated spruce 

top measures 15 

1/4” wide and 1
