Do the following to make hardware connections for initial setup.  

Connect your modem to the WAN port using the cable that came with your 
modem.

Connect your computer to a LAN port using the yellow Ethernet cable from the 
package.

Use the power cord from the package to connect the POWER socket to an appro-
priate power source. This is also your powerline connection.

Look at the LEDs (lights). When you connect the power, the POWER (

) LED blinks and 

stays on once the device is ready. 

The LAN (

) LEDs turn on if the LAN connections are properly made.
