3.9. Performing a call test (ISDN and POTS only)
Use the MAKE A CALL test to have a quick test if network
services are available. To perform the test, you place a call to or
receive a call from a remote user and check information and
services. You can make a call using the instrument speaker and
microphone, or an external handset that is connected to the
HANDSET jack at the right hand side of the instrument. To
choose the external handset, see chapter 8 ‘Configuring the
Instrument’. The test can be also performed on POTS line, to
carry out call tests on the standard analog line or at the a/b
output of an NT1+ termination. To perform the test on POTS
line, you need to use the optional AB2001 adapter connected
as shown in the appendix of this manual.

3.9.1. Setting up a call test
Define the following parameters for a call test:
Called number: Enter the phone number of the called party.
• Remote number for calls to a remote user.
• Local number for autocalls.
• Local number for autocalls.
Sub number: If necessary, enter the sub address of the called party. Only ISDN.
To add the SENDING COMPLETE information element, enter '#'
at the end of the number. ISDN only.
