Replacing an Ink Tank

Reset the ink counter.

Close the front cover.
Important
After replacing an ink tank, be sure to reset the ink counter with the front 
cover open.
The remaining ink volume display on the operation panel is displayed 
properly only if the ink counter is reset.
Note
If you have replaced both black and color ink tanks, press the cursor buttons 
and after both ink tanks have the
mark set above them, press the Set

Resetting the Ink Counter in the Maintenance Mode
If you have closed the front cover after replacing an ink tank, reset the ink 
counter in the maintenance mode as described below. 
1. Press the Maintenance

Next, press the Set

Set button. Then,
appears above the ink tank on the 
operation panel.
3. Using the cursor buttons, locate
above the replaced ink tank.
Next, press the Set

Set button.
A full ink tank icon appears under
and the counter is reset. 
If you have replaced both black 
and color ink tanks, reset the ink 
counters of both ink tanks in the 
same manner as above.
4. Press the Maintenance
Maintenance
Maintenance
Maintenance button.
Now you are finished with resetting of the ink counter.

A full ink tank icon appears under   and the 
ink counter is reset.
