j/l until the blank space between

endtime and tape speed is highlighted. Then
press 

i+/k– to switch VPS/PDC on or off.

l to select the recording speed.

i+/k– to select the desired tape speed

(SP, IP, or LP).

• IP mode determines how much tape is left and

switches speed from SP to LP, if necessary, to
complete recording the program. IP mode is not
selected when VPS/PDC is ON.

Check that the timer event details are correct.
Press i/SETUP twice and press I/

6 to turn off

the unit.

 will appear in the display while the unit waits

to make the recording.

• If PLEASE CHECK is displayed, you have entered

incorrect and will need to re-enter the data.

If the timer program list and “PROGRAM FULL” appear on
the TV screen in step 4, 7 programs are already set. Cancel
an unnecessary program.

Delete or change the settings in timer event
memory
If at a later date you wish to delete or change any of
the settings in timer event memory you may do so
without having to enter all the timer event information
again.

Display the timer event screen.

Press 

i+/k– to select the event that you wish to

delete or change.

Press 

j to delete the event

or
Press OK/ENTER to change; then press 

j/l to

select; Station, Date, Start and End times and
Tape speed. Press 

i+/k– to enter the correct

information.

If the program overlaps another
Do not overlap programs, since overlapping portions
of the conflicting programs will not be recorded.
Earlier recording times have priority over later
recording times as shown in the diagram.
