Before you begin installation, register your product at: http://eSupport.3com.com.
The IntelliJack is available in single- and 20-packs. Before you begin the 
installation, familiarize yourself with the following items, which are included with 
the IntelliJack: 
• NJ225FX IntelliJack.
• Trim ring
• Two mounting brackets
• Internal power connector
• Two pairs of screws
• Compact disc containing

User Guide and additional informational documents.

Configuration Manager software.

The switch works with the following optional components, all of which are 
available from 3Com. Order online at www.3com.com or by calling 
1-877-949-3266.
Installing the NJ225FX
Due to hardware differences, installing the NJ225FX requires a slightly different 
procedure than the NJ225. Please note that the following installation steps are 
different for this switch:
• Setting up the power supply
• Mounting the IntelliJack
Setting Up the Power
Supply
Power to the IntelliJack 225FX is provided through one of the following two 
methods:
Directly via AC power:  The 225FX has an internal power supply that can accept 
100~240V AC power if you have access to AC power near the unit.  A green 
power connector is supplied that can be securely plugged into the unit.  The 
connector can accept either solid or stranded power wire.
